Cranston, RI (March 29, 2024) – John Etheridge has been an invaluable member of our team for 20 years, bringing dedication, expertise, and passion to his role.
He explained why he chose a career in the precious metal industry, stating, “For an IT professional, the precious metals refining industry is a data gold mine. The work is complex, layered, and intricate; in other words, challenging. I found in Gannon & Scott a company dedicated to managing operational data for market superiority. Our detailed transactions set us apart, making it an ideal environment for IT professionals.” John's significant contributions have played a key role in Gannon & Scott’s success.
As he prepares for retirement, John expressed his gratitude for the close-knit family atmosphere instilled by Jack Gannon and the deep relationships he formed here. He also fondly recalled the team's resilience in maintaining operational integrity and client trust, noting, “That alone elevates G&S above 99.9% of every other company I have ever worked for.”
John has been an integral part of our team, and he will be missed. Colleagues have shared a few words on John's retirement:
“John is an exceptional programmer. He has a unique talent for creating ideas, turning them into reality, and making them work seamlessly. He has made programming useful for every part of our company, and he really gets how everything fits together. Working alongside John for the past 20 years has been a pleasure, and he will deeply be missed. Even though he is retiring, he will always be a part of our team at Gannon & Scott.”
- Joe Peixoto, CEO
" I have always appreciated John’s careful, calm, and methodical approach coupled with his enduring can-do attitude to solve any problem. Beyond work, our shared passions for music, non-tourist type travel, and outdoor activities have created lasting memories. Eleven years ago, John was out at the Phoenix plant working on a major IT project for us. When the work week wrapped up, we drove up to the Sunrise Ski Resort in Greer, Arizona which is in the north country on the New Mexico border, for a perfect skiing weekend. John's dedication and friendship will be greatly missed.”
- Chris Jones, President
In his retirement, John plans to spend more time with his family, travel, and catch up on cycling.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to John for his years of dedication, hard work, and positive impact here. While he is embarking on a new chapter in his life, his influence will continue to be felt here at Gannon & Scott.
We congratulate John on his retirement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
