Cranston, RI (May 24, 2024) – Gannon & Scott is proud to be featured in a recent issue of Providence Business News (PBN), "These R.I. Employers Rallying the Ex-Troops," for its efforts in hiring and supporting veterans in the workplace.
Bill Hamilton, Managing Editor at PBN, recognized the commendable veteran hiring practices following a press release sent out last month about upholding a commitment to veterans. Hamilton saw this as an opportunity to place Gannon & Scott in PBN's veterans in the workplace feature.
Gannon & Scott has been a recipient of the HIRE Vets Medallion Award by the Department of Labor for several consecutive years, receiving the Gold Award for Small Businesses in 2019. This honor reflects the achievement of maintaining specific criteria for veteran recruitment and retention.
The feature highlights Chris Jones, a veteran and the President of Gannon & Scott. He addresses the initiatives taken to receive this distinction, how these efforts have played a role in the company’s hiring strategies and offers advice for companies that want to focus more on veterans in the workplace.
